Philippians 4:6 MSG “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down.”
True peace is feeling calm in our hearts, even while the storm rages on. An example of this kind of peace can be seen when Daniel and his friends trusted God as they were thrown into the fire (Daniel 3:16-28) – and then an angel walked beside them!
Faith is only possible when we focus on God’s faithfulness and bring our hearts to Him. Thankfully, the Bible teaches us how to prepare our hearts through prayer, praise, and thanksgiving.
When we bring our hearts to God in prayer, we can have peace in every storm.
Prayer: Our God who stills the raging sea, I bring my heart before You. Lord, You know my worries, thoughts and doubts. Come and still my heart. Come remind me of Your faithfulness and bring me peace in this storm. Amen.
Challenge: Write down the things that are causing you anxiety. For each of them, write down a way in which God has been good to/with you.
