‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ – Philippians 4:6-7
Something essential in a Christians life is prayer. “On my little chair, I sit now, with my hands folded…” was one of the prayers I was taught in primary school. Now that I am older, I wonder if I understood the importance of prayers. It’s not just a rhyme that we can learn and recite, but it’s a conversation you have with God.
In prayer, you talk to God, and He answers you. He answers your prayers through thoughts, spiritual feelings, scriptures, or even other people’s actions.
Daily prayer can bless you, your family, and the people you pray for. It can also invite more peace into your life and help you learn more about God’s plan.
Just get your mind around this idea; We pray, and He hears? God listens to every word as you pray. How awesome is that!
A Direct Line!
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for listening to my prayer as I pray now. Thank you for everything You do for us. Help me to live a good Christian life by talking to You often. I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge: As you pray throughout the day today, remember that God hears your prayers and that you are in a conversation. Pay attention to whether you only say a rhyme or whether you mean all your words.
